For a long time, I was a huge fan of Hillary Clinton and thought how
great it would be to see a woman as President of the US. But then Bernie provided
contrast on challenging corporate greed & politicians being too close to
the corporations. The same can be said of Obama as Clinton that despite their
amazing social advances & achievements, the poor got poorer & the
corporations wealthier during the Obama era. And when Hillary would get paid 200K
for a speech at a corporation gathering, people understandably got concerned
about her allegiances. Mud sticks. And as the documentary explains, HC has been
a bit too cocky at times, in her own mind not corrupted, but failing to grasp how
her actions are perceived by normal Americans. And the US is so full of extremist
conspiracy theories that have taken a huge section of voters & turned them
into idiots... who voted for Trump... a man who claimed and paraded himself as
the normal guy. And he got the votes based on this image of being down to earth
when the truth is, he is dishonest & corrupt to the core. It’s a real shame,
and when you watch this documentary, you see what a great Pres Hillary could have been. And
yet her plan to deal with poverty & the wealth disparity was not clear
enough. Many Americans struggling saw her as not facing the challenges or offering solutions. Trump promised miracles & has hoodwinked the simple
folks while his tax cuts aid the rich but are marketed at helping the normal
guy. He is far more cunning & crafty. The snake oil salesman. Her unflinching
loyalty to Israel rather than 2 state solution makes her as limited as Trump,
but this seems to be the corruption of US political hierarchy to be aiding the
terrorists they claim to be at war with like The Saudis & Bin Ladens. (See
Fahrenheit 911 or explore Syria regimes opponent’s links to terrorism) You also
get a real sense of how sexist the US still remains. The hatred that has been
against Hillary all along, has very much been about a woman who did not know her
place. A hatred from conservative cultured men & women. Hillary has done a lot
of good. And then there are all the conspiracies that confuse. And then there
is her inability to market & connect with all kinds of people- that has been
one of her fails, but maybe that would have been the same for any woman trying
to push to a new place. Prejudice remains strong. Look at the role Melania
plays! There is much to learn from this series.
