Mucho Rain...

The end of another month approaches and my commitment to do at least two posts in my blog must occur by months end as promised to my coaches.
It has been a great month with lots of activity and achievement.
There has been a lot of adaptation required, but generally going with the flow and most things feel better regardless.
Being in a poor developing country, there are things that work well while other things are a disaster, and with time, people get used to the new normal!
Electricity supply: Been having lots of rain & storms lately. Electricity kept going off and coming on with much regularity the other night, but a candle evening sitting on the balcony or doing a few things on the computer provided the battery is good, becomes a new option :-)
Today I had a sense that the sky was heavy with impending rain so I went for my afternoon swim earlier. I am doing 30 laps each afternoon and it is a good pool in size too, with a nice deep end. The pool is right next to a jungle. Twice in the last 2 weeks I have seen a beautiful luminescent small green snake on the pathways here. I treat them with caution but have been told they are not poisonous. However in this country, people often say things that later turn out not to be the case! So I take care to be on the safe side.
Just as I was finishing my swim the first of the storm arrived. it was already raining a bit, but the first lightning was a warning to go to cover. As I reached my apartment, the rain got heavier and then poured. And the electrical storm was dramatic, feeling vibrations through the building.
Many of the other gringos have now left the area. Many Canadians and people from the US & Europe come to escape their winter and return to their countries in April.
Not sure of my plans right now as a job to reinstate me to teaching in Sydney did not come through, so I get to stay here a bit longer and continue working on my writing. I am currently writing ebooks on ancestry, collected essays, education, progressive elements through entertainment.
I spent a week down in the capital Santo Domingo about 10 days ago. It was good to spend time in a city again with lots of people and things to explore and shops to snaffle through for bargains.
